TRAC is pleased to announce a new feature... Make Offer Only listings.

We've taken a classified listing and supercharged it by allowing offers to be made and accepted through this site. There is no bidding, only offers.

Sellers, offer your item without the need to set a reserve price or list price. Instead, field offers from prospective buyers and when you receive one you like, TAKE IT! Payment can be made through this site and electronically deposited into your bank account if you use Paypal or Google Checkout.

We hope you enjoy this new feature, available to registered users. Click here to register with us.

Sellers can now include documents in PDF format which are viewable/downloadable by logged-in users. After an auction is created, PDF documents can be added by using the Edit Auction function from the Members Area.

Include such items as manuals, receipts, reports and other due diligence materials. Give your buyers the confidence that the item in question is genuine or is yours to sell. More transparent transactions means higher sale prices.

We've recently upgraded 2 aspects of image viewing for our users:

  1. At the top of each auction details page you will see thumbnails of each image uploaded -- click on the images to zoom and scroll through them
  2. In the list of each category of auctions you will see a thumbnail image of each item/property on the left -- hover your mouse over a portion of the image to zoom in clearly to that section of the image

We've added a great new feature to auction listings -- Preview Mode. This feature allows a seller to list an upcoming auction on this site immediately but for bidding to start at a date and time in the future. The item/property details are available for viewing but bids cannot be made until the auction starts. This is a free option available to all member sellers to advertise their upcoming auctions, as they will be submitted to search engines right away, driving traffic to the preview.

Pre-auction offers can be made during the preview period. Bidders are encouraged to inspect the item/property and do their due diligence during said preview period.

Prospective bidders should remain in contact with the seller/auctioneer or they will not be alerted when pre-auction offers are being considered.

Another round of police auctions has begun.

All forfeited items are found in the Police Auctions section of our site. We will be adding more items on a regular basis. Many auctions have an opening bid of $1 with NO reserve. There are definitely bargains to be had out there!

We schedule Police Auctions in batches. Become familiar with our schedule and you're sure to enjoy successful bidding on all sorts of items.

There are 2 ways to buy items or properties at TRAC Auctions...

1. Bidding by Proxy. This is the standard method of bidding. Bidders set a confidential MAXIMUM amount they are willing to pay for an item/property and the system will then bid on behalf of the bidder as other competitive bids are entered -- up to the maximum stated bid. Items/properties are purchased for the lowest possible price.

2. Making an Offer. Sellers must elect to permit this method of bidding during the listing process. If permitted, prospective bidders can make their highest and best offer for immediate presentation to the seller. If the seller wishes to sell at the price offered, they may accept the offer through the Members Area, a binding contract then exists, and any live auction scheduled will be canceled.

Questions? We're here for you, so please contact us.

Please stay tuned as we catalog and prepare for another round of police forfeited items. You won't know what we're offering or what bargains are out there unless you stop by.

Our signs may be purple, but TRAC is going green with ecoTRACtm....

Our ecoTRAC architectural reclamation auctions save items that would otherwise be sent to a landfill and turn them into cash for sellers and valuable building materials for buyers.

How does it work?

  1. Seller identifies a property and construction timetable
  2. We inspect the property and determine which items can be offered at auction
  3. We provide simple paperwork
  4. We target the buyers and provide for both online and live bidding on items
  5. Items are sold intact and subject to immediate removal by the winning bidder
  6. We account for the seller's funds
  7. The environment appreciates all of us
  8. TRAC recognizes participants on our site and in other media for their green efforts

Our online auctions work like a live outcry auction, so sellers get top dollar and all bidders participating in final bidding are provided an opportunity to be the winner. Every auction will remain open as long as there is active bidding. By active bidding we mean that if a bid is placed at the end of a scheduled auction, this will extend bidding for 2 minutes.

Example: The posted end time for an auction is 5:00 p.m. If Bidder1 places a bid at exactly 5:00 p.m. the system will extend the auction and open up a 2-minute window within which other bidders may challenge the high bid. If Bidder2 places a higher bid before 5:02 p.m., the auction will be extended for another 2-minute period and the system will accept additional bids. This continues until there are no more bids placed within a 2-minute extension period.

This process ensures the highest possible price for the seller while providing all participating bidders the opportunity to become the high bidder/winner.

Of course, the best way to ensure you will purchase an item for your price is to make your highest bid early in the auction process or to use the Make Offer feature. Some auctions are conducted in 2 phases -- online and live. Being the high online bidder does not always guarantee you will be the winning bidder. Please confirm specific terms of your auction prior to bidding.

How else are our auctions like live auctions? Auctions can be restricted to bidders who have been ID verified and posted a Registration Deposit -- requirements at all of our live real estate auctions.

We have officially kicked off our forfeited items auctions.

Please visit frequently. You won't know what we're offering or what bargains are out there unless you stop by.

Generally speaking, we will be scheduling Police Auctions in batches and most auctions will end mid-afternoon. Become familiar with our schedule and you're sure to enjoy successful bidding on all sorts of items.

Do you have any large items sitting around gathering dust? Reluctant to throw them away because you're convinced they're worth something? Moving and not planning to take that piano with you? Then list a "Pick-Up Only" auction and let the world know that as a winning bidder, retrieval and removal of the item is the buyer's problem!

Why pay someone to remove your "junk" when someone just might pay you for the opportunity!?!?

Statistics show that doing face-to-face business greatly improves your chances of having a successful sale -- on both sides of the transaction -- and this is a great way to unload large or heavy items.

Another well-known site said it right.... the best rule for business over the Internet is:

"DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scams"

If you'd like to do business with other folks who prefer online sales to be as safe as hand-to-hand business, you came to the right place. TRUST TRAC. We'll do our best to make your online business as safe as possible.

Now you will no longer lose money or receive bad feedback due to postage issues! Our latest improvement will change the way you do business because it will stop the loss in postage fees for sellers and eliminate shipping price gouging for buyers which can be common on other sites.

Now sellers can create unlimited “ship to" locations and add in specific postage fees for each location. In Step 5 of a listing there will be a postage field with drop-down menus. You can add any and all locations you will ship to and the shipping costs to that location. Add as many locations as you wish. Once you input all locations and costs, the system will calculate shipping to that location at checkout.

Sellers also have the option of setting up the various locations and shipping information in the Selling--->Prefilled Fields section of their account (in the Members Area) so listings are quick and efficient.
